Muddy Waters is a beautiful world of adventure and exploration. Character creation consists of choosing race (elf, human, dwarf, hobbit, gnome, or orc) and picking some descriptions for youself. You are given direct control at every point in the game how your experience is spread across your stats.
Skills are financially acquired through purchased training in public places. As you progress through the game and learn more about the world and its history, you may be inclined to join a guild. There are a number of open layman (intermediate level) guilds that can be joined or left at your disgression, each their own offered skills and abilities.
There are also many occupational guilds to choose from including but not limited to alchemists, paladins, knights, druids, martial-artists, mages, godless guardians of knowledge, anarchial barbarians, or shadowy worshippers of evil.
There are hundreds of quests available that encourage you (and make it worth your while) to explore the world, countless places to visit, battles to fight, and stories to get involved in.
This MUD is a friendly fantasy place that offers almost limitless potential to ultimately do whatever you want.
