"Flame of Darkness" is a Marvel/X-Men role playing game set in a custom version of the Marvel Universe using the setting of Wolverine And The X-Men with a bit of Movie-verse and Comic-verse blended in to create a world that allows for many different types of characters, and allows players to focus on their character's personality instead of having to remember/keep up with so many years of Marvel History.

There is a wide variety of teams, racial options and groups available. Players can take on the role of a Feature Character or an Original Character. OCs can join any team but the X-Men (OCs start as New Mutants and work their way into being X-Men), and even difficult to place characters can be adapted to find a home in Flame of Darkness. Be a mutant, a human, a metahuman or an Asgardian God. You can even sail the sea of stars as a Guardian of The Galaxy!

--- Theme Info -------------------- The ideals of Xavier and Magneto clash as a fragment of chaos touches the world.

Left behind after rogue sorcerers disrupted Feron's communion with the Phoenix Force, the fragment -- dubbed the Flame of Darkness -- has steadily become a thing to be desired, a thing to be pursued, for whatever its would-be possessors' greatest wishes.

Amid this struggle, heroes have emerged: the X-Men embody the ideals of peaceful coexistence, the Acolytes and Brotherhood struggle for freedom from oppression, and the Avengers fight to maintain right and goodness. Others will be drawn into the conflict.

Due to an unforeseen series of events, mutants have been exposed to the public for about six months. Programs have begun to develop such as the Mutant Response Division and the Sentinel Program. S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nicholas Fury felt it was time to push the Avengers Initiative forward with Tony Stark at the helm. The world has become a dangerous place for those with inhuman abilities. Even such heroes as the Fantastic Four are under scrutiny and violence against innocent people with special abilities has increased exponentially.

Taking advantage of the chaos that has engulfed the world, organizations such as Hydra, The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants and Friends of Humanity have popped up to carry out their own agendas to not only suppress those who are different, but also to conquer the entire world.

Charles Xavier, the founder of the Xavier Institute for Gifted Youngsters and Magneto, leader of the Acolytes and Brotherhood of Evlil Mutatns have fortified their defenses to protect their people from harm. Xavier wants to fight for mutant rights and the ideal that normal humans and mutants can co-exist peacefully. Magneto takes a more progressive approach preferring to strike first rather than have a need for retaliation.

Whose side is the 'right' side? Whom would you choose to follow? The fine line between good and evil is not always so cut and dry. -----------------
