I first came across Epitaph a few months back when I was away
working. I returned about a month ago as this mud caught my eye. As a
survivor of a zombie plague you have to use your wits and skills to
survive. Now this game is hard as you learn the system. A level less
game that mainly rewards by doing by the taskmaster system. You can
also gain experience by well designed quests and missions as well as
achievements and use them to buy training from certain trainers from
the many factions in the game. The biggest draw to the game for me is
crafting, nearly everything can be salvaged and used to create items,
later I hear that you can even make more advanced items using
schematics and producing raw materials for said items. Now I am not
usually a MUD player and more of a MUSHer, however the atmosphere and
detail have me drawn deeply. The amount of possible directions can
only grow with more players as groups of desperate people band
together to create the things they need to survive. Fine tuning your
knacks and choosing the commands you wish to focus on can truly make
your character unique. So if you ever wanted to hold out inside a
mall, or have a pint in the Winchester then Epitaph will meet your
zombie killing needs. Active staff are working on this new game but
all ready it looks like one hell of a game. Hope to see you surviving
in this hell hole. Romero
