MMORPG in a 3D Sherwood Forest The dream of the MaidMarian.com MMORPG is to create an online escape into a 3D Sherwood Forest. The Sherwood MMORPG / Avatar Chat is growing into that dream, bringing together an online community of like minded people. The unique nature of this project allows an open development process so players can watch and participate in it's growth. The goal is to create a browser based multi-user 3D experience without requiring the download and installation of cumbersome client software. Just click a link, and you're in. Sherwood delivers an immersive multiplayer 3D experience using Shockwave 3D. It includes motion captured animation, high quality 3D models and dynamic time of day lighting. The Sherwood MMORPG isn't finished, nor do we expect it ever to be finished. We intend to share its development with you and grow a community that will be participants in the process. We intend to push the envelope both through the technology and visually so our 'experiment' continues to represent the state of the art. It will be a world full of secrets, magic and wonder. We hope to see this develop into our version of a Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. | |
