I've just started administrating a Star Wars Reality based MUD. I've just started doing hiring of staff on my own and I am running into a problem. I go to advance players, which according to the help file, the syntax is advance character level, and I do that, and it tells me it wants a syntax of advance character ability level. The documentation says advance will work on a characters level, any ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Thank you.

But will it that work for an overall level, like mset level whatever here would? Because if you do Advance character combat level, that will only advance the combat group. I want to do the level that determines what immortal commands they have access to.

Trust me, that's the way you do it, I've done it myself before. Dunno why SWR does it that way, but it just does.

makeimm {character} {immlevel} is one way to do it. syntax may be a little off, but the makeimm by itsself should show you the correct way to do it.

If your mud doesn't have the makeimm command implimented for whatever reason, you can directly alter character information in the shell, much as you did to make your first immortal. just go into the src/players/ and find their name, edit the level to whatever, overwrite the file and you're in business. Just make sure that the player is offline whenever you upload the file, otherwise when they quit it'll save and overwrite what you just did.

Hope that fixes your problem.

If that doesnt work, try Immortalize . Advance sets levels such as combat, piloting, ect, not immortal levels.
If you're still having problems, come see me and we'll get ya going.
