Is it possible to just download a mud ready to go that I could start building on and call it my own??? I can build but im not much of a coder or a programer and there seems to be alot of that skill needed to get a mud running. Ive played muds for several years and i would enjoy one of my own very much. PLEASE HELP

Stock codebases should run fine, just choose carefully. In your situation I would go for an old one, like Merc, and play the nostalgia factor. I'm even searching TMC for a classic MUD where you get backstab at level 1, and it's grossly overpowered, right this moment. :)

this post might help you, they state help setting up your mud, and maby a little code help, which I assume would cover getting a basic codebase. You probably didn't find it as it's on an odd board for a post of this nature, and I cant vouch for this person, haven't seen them post much, or used their service, but it seems fairly well cut out for what you want to do.
