"Its almost a certainty that criminal elements of the US government sponsored 911"
This is the kind of crazy talk that undermines
the legitimacy of the opposition.
You might as well claim that www.fascist-pegasi.com
proves that winged horses caused aids as a plan
against the gay.
The other day some dude was fulminating against
me, calling me a puppet of the nazis because I
refused to believe gwb brought down the towers.
"It's a proven FACT that jet fuel can't get hot
enough to melt structural steel!"
And my response was, fine, I believe you. Going
from that to "gwb brought down the towers" is
called a "leap of faith".
Still, I apparently am a nazi tool.
It is positively *terrifying* to me that people
who appear normal and rational in every other
way suddenly reveal their tinhattery and how
impervious it is to reason.
On occasion I'll make a leap myself. I remember that on
the occasion of the signing of the military commissions
act of 2006, I found myself swayed by unscrupulous
lawyers who misrepresented the reach of the law into
the rights of US citizens on American soil.
I was mistaken, and I take responsibility for that
error. I should have known better.
Being able to take responsibility for your own
positions, and admit when you leap before looking,
is an important part of being a reasonable person.
I hope you will take the time to examine the
rationality of the bases for your beliefs and
reconsider your nutjob ideas. Because since you're
obviously bent on spewing them, the least you
could do is make the effort not to discredit
the people on your side of the fence by being the
whacko that justifies not taking any of them seriously.
