Just bumping in to say that there are others out here that are hyped about this project too. I'm interested in seeing where you take it and how you expand on it. Best of luck!

I do not believe that Humans had a transformation back on FE, granted Trenton only had Saiyan, Namek, Human, and Android..probably missing some but yea, as far as I know the only one that had a transformation was Saiyan with SSJ, I don't even think Nameks got a transformation, they just had the super-namek tag after like 800k or something.

Yeah well ill figure all that stuff out once i get to it :(
its gonna be awhile before i focus on that extra stuff
currently im just trying to make sure everything is bug free
and polished... after that i will progress into more skills
and transformations then move on to new planets and
locations.

as for now im working on the sense command im not 100% sure
how to do it because i cant remember 100% how FE was.

http://199.175.48.102/sense.html

is what it currently is without a scouter you can sense the
earth for powers but it will not show their names nor
specific locations.

with a scouter it gives alot more details and names.

That's kinda how it was although I think that's more along the lines of how reality set up their sense system, I think FE was more along the lines of being able to sense the NPC/player but it wouldn't give you the PL it was or the actual coords just a general direction, don't think FE ever had a weak/equal/strong system in place, but I very well could be wrong.

Things Missing:

Fly 10 (dir)
Powerdown

I used to live in the Safe Zone and these were the only two
commands I ever really used. Heh. (I used to play Bonnie)

Yes, FE had the fly 5 <dir> thing. I recall it was only 5.

You could base our distance on the speed stat possibly.

You seem to have the stamina and power level systems down. Probably
still have some links to work out on gains/losses. You also have basic
fighting. I didn't get to block much, so I didn't see if combos were added in.

Only a few more things to do and essentially the greatest DBZ MUD ever is
back.

Much respect Matthew. Don't you dare pull a Trenton on us and yank the
MUD down and delete the code after a few years!

Pretty sure that both FE and Reality had a built in alias command that you could alias certain attacks to like alias rp right punch and that sorta thing, and yes I realize that most clients you can do that for but when you play multiple characters it would be easier for it to be a built in command within the mud.

Okay so i have been making some real progress with the mud
thanks to RCet

power up / down / num is now working
fly direction <distance> now working
fly to <mob> is now just fly<mob>

block has been changed to parry.

power gains have been changed. you will randomly gain power
from attacks and blocking and a small bonus from killing.

Also the login bug has been fixed possibly i can't confirm
100% it would be easier if more people would join to be able
to test if you wish to help test join whenever

Just an update guys:

MUD is officially in Beta. Should have had its last Pwipe
tonight.

Power gains have been adjusted to be more like the show. Slow
at first, but will gradually increase as you gain more
Powerlevel.

You should see listings appearing on Mudconnect soon.

Humans had a skill that made them glow white, and raised your
chance to stun and get combos. It was AWESOME! I had a human
at 42 mil. He was a beast. Solar flare... destructo discs...
and whatever that skill was. I think FE also had wolf fang
fist... it was like an elbow that if it connected you could
pull off a combo.

If anyone remembers Kneepadsanta, Sanjiro, Kagetsu, or
Rodochan... that was me. Keep me updated. I just came back
to TMC, and this was awesome enough to get some of my friends
into MUD's.

Hey jrf,

If you could please send me Trenton's email I would really appreciate it. I used to play FE religiously as a kid and would love to get into contact with him. I know his old AIM user name was Trenton but I haven't found him online. If I can somehow reach him and be able to obtain the code for DBZ:FE I will surely let you know. I think I have an offer he can't refuse. Your reply would be much appreciated.

(Comment added by kleezmaa on Sat Aug 4 1:04:29 2012)

Edit: I'm thinking of giving him a lump sum of money in exchange for FE, if the has the code he should oblige. I remember he came to resent FE after a while because he moved on to a new MUD he designed so I don't see why he wouldn't essentially "sell" an old MUD for some cash.

It's nice to see all of you FE fans back here. Rcet Jcet.. not sure if I know the rest of you. To be honest I can barely remember some of my characters from FE but I remember having a saiyan by the name of Shukketsu and a human by the name of Mastabeta or something of the sort. If any of you remember me give a shout out including your character names.

P.S. thunderz13 great job on the recreation. I hope your combat system turns out similar to Trenton's. I will try to check it out once I find the time. Keep up the good work and best of luck!

Trenton started some mech warrior type mud he had me beta test
with him. It actually had potential to be reeeally BA, but
you're right, he was tired of FE. Whether we get the exact
same thing back, and you guys build on it, or we get something
new, but similar... Either way, I'm down. This game is going
to be so brutal when it gets started.

Seriously?! I've been asking about getting that code for years! No matter how hard I fought he told me he wouldn't let it go. I even offered him $250 once - nope. I mean, I understand - it was his masterwork as far as I'm concerned.

I don't know about all this Street Fighter stuff, but last I checked he was working on an exteremely simple MUD builder in .NET called UltiMUD. Pretty cool since it doesn't require any programming experience to build your own game (think BYOND but no scripting - and free). However, it was still pretty Alpha when I tried it.

Annnyway. I've been waiting for Trenton to come back online one of these days so I can ask him for his original maps (though the whole code would be cool). But I've re-built a lot of the engine in C++ in a day. Just have to work on fighting mechanics, AI, items - that's about it. My only problem is I'm working from memory as I don't have contact with Rcet or Jcet either =\
