Does ANYONE at all know how to contact Jcet, Rcet or Vero; the creators of DBZ Reality? Or even Trenton, the creator of Dragonball Z: FE? I have an offer for MUD hosting for them that I'm sure they won't be able to pass up, but I need to talk to them. Please email me.

Trenton became a pro super street fighter 2 turbo competitor and develops software for fighting games now. I'm pretty sure he's moved on. I'll email you - just posting because I see this question come up every now and again.

I've been asking Trenton for the FE codebase for awhile now,
and he always says he's going to e-mail me but forgets. Not
sure what happened to Reality.

Still one of the better DBZ MUD's from that era, though easily
scripted.

is this the dbz mud where the combat was more interactive where you had to block in certain directions and attack in certain directions? And also had to kill certain "key" characters in the game for skills ie Master Roshi for Kamehameha, Krillin for Discs, Androids had to PK people for points to spend with Dr. Gero?

Sorry for the random question but i've been looking for this mud for way too long.

Yes this is the DBZ MUD where the combat was more interactive. I used to be close to the creator of both MUDs (Jcet, Rcet) for Reality and Trenton for DBZFE. Neither are currently up. I'm offering a server to run it on for either of them, whomever pops up first.

I know this thread is old and we all miss FE Reality

I'm working on a new one and here is what i have so far.

not much interactive yet i'm still working on it from scratch

it is using the same engine reality was on BYOND

i use to have Realitys source code because jcet accidentally
gave me it once but it is now lost and i have no contact with
anyone :P

I too have been looking for reality or fe, i believe one problem they had which may have caused the mud to close was a glitch in the blast input the last time i played rcet was checking the bug out then the next day it was gone, also reality had a speed code which i believe is key to making the game more realistic but they had it based on power lvl instead of making the 2 seperate, to allow a max speed for all character but leaving an infinte amount of power availbe, it worked but lowering the defense lag of the defeneded player if u had 1 speed over your oppenant ur defense lag if u u got faked was 1.5 seconds in stead of 2 and it got lower compared based on sp vs sp they had a boost command which raised speed only so i believe if u make the mud just put a cap on speed that everyone can reach based on there gravity training that way a player with 1 mil pl with 200 grav train could stand up to a 100 mil player with only 10x grav training etc...if u need any help with concepts of the reality code let me know srry the post is so long

atm i am just finishing the parsing system so that commands
etc can work through telnet..everything else for the core of
the game is done but now i have to work on content such as
skills, mobs etc its going to take awhile but not that long!

Some more progress the parsing system is finished and im about
to start working on the combat system after i finish that i
will start making abilities and such then start working on
mobs to kill ... after that i will do transformations then i
will continue on to movement to other planets(space travel)
etc sorta like FE.

and snakeway and crap ^_^ and alignments etc blah blah blah i
got so much to do lol

So far working good :) just finished the parsing system and
now working on the way combat is calculated / attack faking
and mobs etc.

I still have afew weeks till it would actually be playable
WELL YOU COULD pretty much fight now but im still working on
combat xD

It's been a while since I've thought about Reality.

The reason Reality stopped being hosted was that a sudden
hard drive crash ransacked my HDD and I lost everything. The
latest back up was a year old, so I lost most of the
progress I had made.

A few months ago I put it back up for a while just for old
times -- played a bit with a couple friends. Memories like
these bring me back to my childhood. Good times.

If any of you guys need to contact me, my email is
rein.shope@gmail.com. It's good to see people still thinking
about it after all this time.

Rainer we use to play FE/BFP together.

I would like to ask if you would like to start reality back up
again i could help with hosting instantly etc free ofc.

If not i will continue my own project it would be nice to get
back in touch with all of you though.

i knew i had your email somewhere, what are your plans? do you ever think to brin g it back out or possibly just help with the concepts for thunderz? not sure if u remember me but i had a character named Adhorash on your reality mud, jester and i brought the blast bug to ur attention and then puff u were gone, is the code u have pretty much bare or is it still interactive?

i asee u have enery and power lvl, is that simply how u see what u have or 2 seperate variables? or is it just stamina labled energy? i really want to understand ur variables and outputs the one thing i saw fromn reality is how simple the concepts were, the way they used the ki made ,from my perspective, combat very seemless and uncomplcated from a coding perspective, the only thing that made it hard to be a pvp was the way speed was labled, it seemed %based on pl so somone with a 1 mil pl would have like 12k speeed, but it only takes like 1 speed over your oppenants to get a good advantage over your oppenant in terms of blocking and dodging attacks, which i where if u made a speed variable, make cap for all players at the same number, like 200 speed would be max a player could have thats after hes trained all gravities so u could actually beat someone 5x ur pl if u were smart enough and had the speed to do it just make it very challangeing to max your speed

still working on it just making stuff neater i havent had much
progress lately because ive been busy.. anyways ive just been
fixing bugs and stuff making sure everything that is already
there is bugless still working on combat/skills once those are
done its time to work on the AI for the mobs...hopefully when
i have time i will fix all that stuff up lol.

Currently no i could see it playable in a month or so but ive
lost more time due to power outages from the recent storm on
the east coast... just got power back literally moments ago i
still work on it daily for afew hours the core is pretty much
done its just doing the content/skills really and combat needs
to be balanced etc.

just finished melee combat pretty much all defense skills are
done as well as offensive.

working on skills and combat AI for mobs.

I actually already ordered a server for it with a pretty nice
connection for testing atm but it will be the live server once
I'm done with everything.
