Would anyone be interested in a mud-codebase written in Java?

Ive worked years on it, and its far from done, but the engine is working. You can create a player, but there are no items or monstesr or anything. You can easily add new commands, and the new Classes.

The world is 3d-grid-based. The idea is that you can fly over cities, and attack from range, etc.

The reason why i am asking is because, ive noticed ive got lesser and lesser time to work on it. Maybe its time to pass the code around. Someone might wanna use it.

Please post a reply if you are interensted.

Thanks,
Corgrath

It sounds like you have done some interesting work so I am sure there are people who would like to study it, and perhaps contribute.

If you are interested in releasing it under and open source license then http://sourceforge.net will give you a place to host it, cvs, etc. I am sure there are probably similar services that do not care about what license you use, but I am not familiar with them.

Actually, an associate and I are working on a Java-MUD, and are trying to figure out some of the engine-specific details. We'd love to see how you implemented certain features.

Hope all your projects succeed.

I have started some major work on a MUD in Java. You can see the work in progress here:

I'm not releasing the source code, at least right now, but I'd be glad to talk to you about design ideas, how I did it, how you might do it... Just pop onto my game some time and send me a message using the ADMINS command, and if I'm around I'll chat with you.
