I'm truly sorry for my earlier rants on TMC which caused accusations of spamming. In hindsight (what a wonderful thing it is) it looks really bad, juvenile and petty. But with all that has happened in the last 48 hours with Kris, at the time of writing it felt entirely justifiable!

Please note the two replies which follow this post. Firstly comes an e-mail which I received from Kris Craig this morning, accusing me of 'doing things to his server' at 4am when I was most certainly in bed!!! Also I enclose a copy of announcement made on ICE-MAN forums -- a "bill" (how very sad) which bans me from their network.

Please bear in mind I am considering taking legal advice and considering legal action, as his rumours now publicly accessible on the internet are damaging my good name!

Understand when I tell you that I've had enough of Kris, his tinpot dictatorship and lies about his "great hosting" service which is actually insecure and falsely advertised. These latest allegations are the limit - as my girlfriend will happily confirm my presence in bed at 4am, as will the cat that was happily sleeping on my feet all night!! Really I don't have the time nor patience to concern myself with "skript kiddie" activities, nor making "gay applications" to link a nonexistent MUD to his network!

I leave further discussion, analysis and questions in your most capable hands. I wished my motives known fully, and this post has demonstrated my reasons for hatred. I also want the following website on record, which a party (who wishes to remain anonymous) gave me earlier:

The author has two HUGE logs, one originating from Aethia and the other from a chat channel on ICE-MAN IMC2 network. I initially though they were fake, but seriously, anyone who has the time or will to write THAT MUCH stuff needs to get a life... It follows like a real conversation, and all the crap about "secret bills" fits nicely with his tinpot dictatorship and megalomaniac attitude.

Please again accept apologies, I'd be interested in your comments about his messages or that huge log!

Consider this your written warning to cease your pathetic spamming attempts against my server. The following infractions have been tracked to you:

Abusing your guest imm account (now disabled) to crash the MUD. Submitting phony MUDs on the ICE-MAN signup form to spam my inbox with stupid homosexual references.

In regards to your spam attempts today, they were pretty pathetic. You crashed a MUD that currently has no players (so only I noticed), and it only took me like 3 seconds to restore the backup core area files you corrupted. As for the ICE-MAN form, I'm sure you weren't dumb enough to
think it wouldn't be traced back to you. And besides, once again, all it did was cause me (nobody else) a minor and brief annoyance. This activity comes as no real surprise as we determined back in April that you were working for Muddomain; you people really need to get a life. At
very least, you need to learn how to do more than basic script-kiddie stuff before you try to attack a well-established server such as this.

You are now permanently banned from all AethiaMUD servers. Consider this legal notice to cease any and all attempts to connect to my privately-
owned servers. Any further spam and/or connection attempts will be immediately forwarded to your ISP, and possible legal action will be taken if necessary. As for whether or not to report this incident to your ISP, I will consider it.

You are not welcome here. Do not make any further attempts to connect to this server.

In response: I was very certainly in bed at the time, don't care to access your poorly managed and vulnerable servers -- as for well-established, does having your own little VDS server for $18/month count as well-established these days?? How about the fact you have one customer??

Message As prescribed in the ICE-MAN Constitution, I am hereby invoking an emergency ban against Astinus@PortalsofTime, set with an indefinite duration.

Astinus@PortalsofTime is hereby banned from the ICE-MAN network and AethiaMUD servers for excessive spamming and attempting to compromise system security through known bug exploits.


An email has been sent to the perpetrator, and CC'd to Ntanel, Rogel, Paradigm, and Madoc for public record. The email informs the perpetrator of banishment and provides logs/details as to the nature of his multiple and deliberate infractions.

The ICE-MAN InterMUD Network has a zero-tolerance policy toward hacking (or in this case, pathetic script-kiddie attempts at hacking).

In response: Lovely dictatorship you have there that supposedly promotes free speech. If you really want free speech, try Mud Domain!Also nice IMC2 client you're working on - the idea to make an instant messaging link possible was really ingenious and original... Too bad you can't code for crap, and Madoc has to continually rewrite everything you do.

Also, for the record - Kris is using pirated versions of zMUD and MDaemon 6.0.0 --> (http://www.aethiamud.com/downloads/). If he deletes it I'll be happy to provide screenies.

Substantiating your claims (or at least defining what your claims are) and not acting like an idiot would help your case somewhat.

I particularly liked the reference to Vryce helping me, Iflipout, and 'ole Dale from Wolfpaw: out with network security.

Sorry that hat feels funny. Woah...on reading that.. oh wow that was a bit delusional.

You know if I was even thinking of hooking a mud up to one of these Inter thingamajigs, and I'm not, I'd go with that I3 one. Mostly because I haven't heard a single bloody peep from them in years. Maybe someone will start a STFU-IMC network, preferably a witty intelligent and capable woman (which means pretty much all women excepting Courtney Love but I'm thinking even she could do better than these boyz).

Actually I barely even know who this Astinus guy is, just that he's been spamming my servers for the past few days. I've also heard complaints that he spammed a seminar at MudWorld as well.


Only serious response I'll give to this guy is that (as I'm sure you've already guessed if you wasted your time looking) those logs on that site are fakes. That 'ichat' conversation did take place, but has been highly doctored, particularly on one point: replace "Vryce@Medeivia" with "Astinus@PortalsofTime". That other log, as far as I can tell, was just completely made-up.


Anyway I'm back to running my network. Enough time spent on this guy. =)

That account/domain and those logs have my name in them. I was informed on Sunday. I contacted Geocities as have a few others and the site is gone now. Let it die.

It refers to Vyrce as only just starting a mud and not knowing what codebase to go with though... but it does use his full name so an imposter? :P

Looks like it's actually this other guy, and whoever put up the log replaced the original name with Vryce@Medieva.

Just a brief note. Samson has put the spammer Astinus' hate site on his server after Geocities took it down and begun advertising it (including on this Mudconnect thread). The URL is http://samson.alsherok.net.He claims that '2 people who were there' in that log confirm that the conversation did take place and the logs are authentic.

That is false. Everyone listed in those faked logs is saying that those logs are indeed false, and that they never told Samson otherwise. But don't take my word for it. Just a brief update. Only a half dozen people in the known universe actually gave a crap. I'm certain your email box can handle the load. I will update you when the situation changes. I'm still dealing with a breaking blockbuster log I've found of someone pretending to be JohnF'nKerry shooting up women and children, and burning villages with their zippo lighter on my mud. I'll update the greater mud community as I finish editing the logs to bring them under the PG-13 rating.

Lol yah I agree, and I wouldn't even bother except that a few of us have been receiving somewhat irate emails regarding this issue, though admittedly most of them appear to be coming from the same IP address, and the screennames are unknown to me.

In any case, just in case someone actually does give a rat's ass, I can now point them to that thread rather than wasting my time trying to respond to it.

Or you can waste your time keeping it alive for some unknown and obviously nefarious purpose when the fact that two of the participants confirmed the authenticity. But you've never let the truth stop you before.

If someone gives a rat's ass, Kris posted the link. Think of it what you want, I really don't care. I neither endorse or oppose the content of the site. I merely host it because people like Kris see fit to try and bury it instead. Actually, it's rather funny. In any case, Astinus and Rogel were there, Astinus has publically stated it as authentic, Rogel privately stated the same. Somehow Ntanel got ahold of information he was able to confirm it with. Kris, McCavity and Scynscapa say it's fake.

I say read it, and either laugh your ass off and enjoy it, or keep making a federal case over how it should be removed from the internet. Just keep in mind which party is running around demanind it be removed from the internet. Sorta the same way his choice for president is making similar demands against another group who isn't involved in his opponent's campaign.

So is Rogel lying now? Because he's saying that he never said anything of the sort to you. Refer to his post.

I would go so far as to say he is, yes. Since he told me privately that the log was authentic. I doubt he figured you'd make such a big stink over something so stupid. In any case, as I said, it's not my call to say it's real or fake. I don't honestly give a crap if Astinus may have forged the entire thing. My only issue here is that you ran off to cover it up so fast people saw double.

Read Rogel's post very carefuly. Publically all he's saying is something about how he told Astinus it was a parody or something. He doesn't confirm or deny it. Neither does Scyn. So it boils down to having 2 people who say it's fake, 1 who won't comment, 1 who confirms it privately, 1 who confirms it publically, and 1 who confirms it, but who hasn't revealed the source of his confirmation yet. That makes the authenticity of it a draw as far as I'm concerned.

I even thought it was highly amusing when you subtly threatened me by saying I host it at my own peril. I'm quaking, really. You should see the readings on this richtor scale here. Oh wait, no, that was from the screaching shrillness of your voice.

Again, I don't care. I'm not even the one who keeps raising this as some kind of issue. You are. If you want it to go away, drop it. Don't bring it up again. Soon everyone will forget about it. In the meantime, all you do is draw more attention to it. Though I'm sure most people who read it are laughing their asses off the same way I did when I read it the first time.
