1) When you start gossiping about what they were talking about.
2) When you start getting into their lives and becoming obsessed with it.
3) When you take it and plaster it on a web site for all to see.
4) When it’s used for anything at all other then strictly monitoring your mud.

Logging is fine, and getting conversations mix in is ok as well, as long as you are responsible with the logs. Now if you start using those conversations for anything then you’re crossing the line of privacy.

You read the ethics of snooping? Got into a BIG flame war over this. Some believe you can’t log conversations. Where as I find that it’s ok to log, and if you get conversations mixed in that’s fine. As long as you are a responsible admin and not let logs become a gossip collector.

Very..... perseptive. I've never seemed to have that problem and I log most to everything. And most to everyone. Couse I use pico to read logs seems how their stored on the server. So maybe pico's just better then winblows notepad.

Probably. I've seen MFC tutorials that have you make a program better than notepad in minutes.

And the ethical problem with catching cheaters is? Sounds like your using logs for what logs were ment for.

uh, if i remember my days as an admin who was a logwhore, if notepad cant open it doesnt it ask if you want to try in wordpad?
