New Rules

Ask as many questions as you like. I will answer each with Yes, No or Huh?

If you get a Huh? response it means that neither a Yes or a No answer is entirely accurate. Try rewording your question.

The winner is the one who correctly answers the 'key question' first. The winner (unless it's Shasarak) will be paid 5,000 gps. Each of these is worth about 100 normal gps however because they bear my incredibly handsome likeness. The babes would do practically anything to get one of these coins guys... so let's make an effort.

Anyone who 'meows' while asking questions will be disqualified. Anyone caught shedding fur, coughing up a hairball, burying a turd or licking thier paws and then wiping their forehead (no matter how 'cute') will be disqualified. Anyone contaminating the gaming area with fleas or other vermin will be disqualified. Anyone who says 'HISSSS' or feints at you with their claws extended and their ears back will be tossed into a stagnant, smelly pond... and then disqualified.

Of course everyone is welcome to play. :) I reserve the right to drop a hint if I think the game is stalling.

Setup Story

Martha is depressed... though she might say her life is 'joyless'. Most of her time is spent sulking or lying about in her bedchamber daydreaming. The people around her are not terribly concerned about her current state, but love to discuss her past.

Hints

She's in touch with her inner woman. The background story includes fantasy aspects. The background story is original to this game so the power of google will avail you not.

Key Question

Why is Martha depressed?

(Comment added by Osiris on Wed May 31 11:02:25 2006)

I want to modify the key question slightly to be 'Why specifically is Martha depressed?' Otherwise a generalization might be considered a win.
Best Wishes,

Osiris

Is her depression linked to a romance?

Is she able to leave her room?

Do servants come into her room?

Is she human?
A variation of human?

Does she wear black, listen to Hawthorn Heights, and constantly daydream about jumping from her window (is she emo? 0_o)?

Is there a window in her room?

Is she in need of a laxative, or "feminine products".

Woo!

No replies all day... back to questions I guess.

Does Martha have a boyfriend/parter?

If Martha had a boyfriend/partner, are they separated?

Does martha ever change or transform into a different shape?

Is Martha affected by any mental disease (besides depression)?

Did someone die?

Do you REALLY think you can keep that fat cat away with those cheesy rules?

Is Martha depressed because she had a yearning to join Osiris' harem of babes and got cruelly rejected by him?

Does someone force her to watch stupid soap operas on TV all the time?

Is she married?

If so, is the marriage an unhappy one?

If not, does she want to get married?

Does she have children?

Does she have a past 'in the spotlight'?

Was she once an actress?

Was she once a sorceress?

Was she once a male?

Is she from another country than her present location?

From another world?

Is she pregnant?

If so, was the baby sired by an 'undesireable father?

If not, does she want to become pregnant?

Did her prescription of Women's Lib Magazine just run out?

Does she suffer from PMS?

Is she just plain bored?

(looks around nervously, and then speaks as quietly as possible in a thoroughly non-feline voice):

Is there a sexual aspect to this puzzle?

Is there a significant autoerotic aspect to this puzzle?

Is Martha a virgin?

Is Martha depressed because someone or something used to be her lover, and isn't any more?

Is Martha depressed because she wanted a particular person/creature/thing as a lover, but was never able to have him/her/it?

Would Martha be physically able to take a lover now if she wanted to?

Has Martha had a non-human (but alive) lover in the past?

Has Martha had a supernatural lover in the past?

Are most of Martha's daydreams about one particular thing (or creature or person), as opposed to being about many different things/creatures people?

Is Martha depressed because she has lost an object that was valuable to her, (either sentimentally or financially)?

Is Martha physically ill or sick in any way?

Has someone upset Martha by doing something?

Has someone upset Martha by not doing something?

Was there one specific event that caused Martha to be depressed (as opposed to many)?

Does Martha own the house she lives in?

Has she lived there for more than a year?

Is there anything or anyone in the house now that is causing her depression?

Has anyone made Martha depressed deliberately? (That is, have they done something with the principal motivation being to upset or depress her?)

Is Martha depressed because she misses a friend?

Is Martha depressed because she misses a member of her family?

Would a fairly decent sort of person find Martha's servants' indifference to Martha's condition reasonable?

Is Martha depressed because she's lost a sex toy?

Right, so Martha is pining for a non-human but living former lover. I think we need some more detail, there.

Was the lover male?

Was the lover female?

Was the lover neuter?

Was the lover a hermaphrodite?

Was the lover a member of a species found in the real world?

Did the lover possess magical powers?

Was the lover's intelligence level comparable with that of a human or higher?

Was the lover under the direct control of an intelligence outside itself?

Did the lover have wings?

Did the lover have scales?

Did the lover have hooves?

Did the lover have horns?

Did the lover have fur?

Did the lover have arms?

Did the lover have legs?

Did the lover have more than four limbs (including wings, if any)?

Could the basic make-up of the lover be described as 'flesh' (as opposed to, say, metal, wood or stone)?

Did the lover possess any physical attributes that made him/her/it an inherently more sexually satisfying partner than a human ever could be?

Did the lover possess any non-physical attributes that made him/her/it an inherently more sexually satisfying partner than a human ever could be?

Is the lover still alive? If not, was he/she/it ever alive?

Is or was the lover undead?

Did the lover choose to end things with Martha?

Did Martha choose to end things with the lover?

If the lover had a free choice in the matter, would he/she/it choose to be with Martha now?

Does the lover in fact have a free choice as to whether or not to be with Martha now?

If the lover is in some way being prevented from being with Martha by something or someone else, would it be fair to describe the something or someone as a person or intelligence, rather than as an inanimate object or phenomenon?

Does the lover still exist in approximately the same form now as he/she/it did while he/she/it was Martha's lover?

If we ignore the wings for the moment, is the lover humanoid in general shape?

If we ignore the wings, and any possible issues of size, could the lover otherwise be mistaken for human?

Ignoring the wings, is the lover roughly comparable to a human in terms of overall body size?

Would he and Martha have become lovers if he had not been under some form external control?

Did things end between him and Martha as a result of the intelligence that was controlling him becoming unable to maintain its control?

Was Martha herself controlling her lover during the period that he and she were lovers?

Was the control magical in nature?

Is the lover an angel?

Is the lover a fairy?

Not counting the wings, does the lover possess more than the standard human number of some physical attribute or appendage?

If so, does this contribute to him being a superior sex partner?

Does the lover possess any attributes that are significantly larger than the normal human equivalent?

If so, does this contribute to him being a superior sex partner?

I guess in order to consider a given response a 'winning' answer I'm going to want to know how the angel and Martha became lovers. Otherwise the game will be over in the next post.

Well we know it isn't Osiris himself in there now.

Does the angel represent and form of religion, or a central god?

If so, is Martha devout in this religion?

Was she a priest?

Was Martha at one time an angel herself?

(Comment added by Epilogy on Thu Jun 1 17:50:36 2006)

Is the angel still under the controlling influence that caused him and Martha to become lovers?

Is the person/entity that was controlling the angel human?

Is the controlling entity a superior angel or similarly-aligned deity?

Did things between the angel and Martha end because whoever was controlling the angel decided to end it?

At the time when the angel and Martha were lovers:

- Was the angel COMPLETELY under the control of another intelligence, like a helpless puppet?

- Was the angel significantly under the control of another intelligence, but not completely, like a very deeply hypnotised person?

- Was the angel normally conscious and with a normal degree of volition, but felt obliged to follow orders, like a soldier might?

- Could the angel have chosen not to get involved with Martha?

Was the angel controlled by means of a spell?

Was the angel controlled by means of a magical object?

Is this an angel of the sort found specifically in Judaeo-Christian mythology? Or are you using the term in a more general sense of 'supernatural being on the side of good?'

Does the moment in time when this story happens approximately correspond to any actual period in real-world history?

For example, is it sort-of Stone Age? Sort of Bronze Age? Sort of Iron Age? Somewhere around the dominance of classical Greece/Rome? Sort-of mediaeval? Sort of Renaissance? Sort of 18th century? Sort of 19th century? Sort of 20th century? Futuristic?

Did Martha deceive the angel?

Did Martha deceive whoever was controlling the angel?

Did anyone other than Martha deceive the angel or his controller?

If the answer to any of the previous three questions is 'yes', was the deceit deliberate (rather than unintentional)?

Was the angel trying to get Martha pregnant?

HA! I have nothing against Christians but I can only hope someone would get so offended by my antics... talk about amusing... but seriously I doubt it.

Does my imagined story resemble something in the bible? Wouldnt that make me a prophet? Maybe you guys should print out all my absurd posts and put them into a leather bound, gold leaf volume? You can huddle in little groups and read them together.

First rule in the church of Osiris. Babes may wear no clothing in my presence. Starting with you Molly my dear. Take off that leather thing you are wearing and hop up onto the Prophet's lap. I will tell you your future. Well at least what will happen to you during the next couple of hours. After that I'll need a nap and a refil on my magic blue pills.

Right, let's just reiterate a little.

Martha is pining for a former lover who was an angel. At the time that they were lovers, the angel was being magically controlled (or at least strongly influenced) by someone else. That someone else was a human, but not Martha herself. The angel would NOT have become involved with Martha if he had not been under this control. The angel is no longer under this control now. But, nonetheless, the 'relationship' between him and Martha did NOT terminate as a result of the magical control lapsing. Nor did it end because the person controlling the angel chose to end it.

Hmm.

Did whoever was controlling the angel actually intend for the angel to become Martha's lover?

Was the angel upset about becoming Martha's lover?

Did whoever was controlling the angel intend to make Martha happy?

Did whoever was controlling the angel intend to make Martha unhappy?

Did whoever was controlling the angel intend to make the angel happy?

Did he/she intend to make the angel unhappy?

Did the angel choose to end things between himself and Martha?

Did Martha choose to end things between herself and the angel?

Is the controller a member of Martha's family?

Is he/she a blood relative of Martha's?

Does the controller live in Martha's house?

Has the controller ever lived in Martha's house?

Does Martha know the controller? Has she ever known him/her?

Is the controller still alive?

Did the controller choose to relinquish control of the angel?

Would the controller have preferred to remain in control of the angel?

Is the controller male? Female?

Is the controller a child? An adolescent? An adult? Middle-aged? Elderly?

Did Martha know the angel was being controlled?

Did Martha know the angel was being controlled specifically by the person who was actually controlling him?

Did Martha ask the controller to control the angel?

Was the angel still under the control of the controller-person at the time his 'relationship' with Martha ended?

Did the controller intend that the relationship should end?

Did the controller intend that the relationship should end at the time and in the manner that it did?
