Hello there mudders! Basically I have been looking around, and I have read some posts, visited some Muds, and I can't find anywhere that would really teach you to build. I Have tried some Muds but the Imm/buildes etc are not even online themselves. So basically i am wandering if there is any muds out willing to teach building. I have dabbled in OasisOlc CircleMud.
Thanks Numinex And if your here to troll go bug someone else.

I am currently on there atm to be honest. its just that the owner is not on much, which is understandable i know people have a life. Just wanted to see if a Mud with a goodish player base with a few builder on would help teach, if you get my drift

With TBA, I'm fairly sure you have to submit an application on their website so things can be arranged for you to learn. There really is no better place to learn how to build on a CircleMUD than TBA, as Rumble, Fizban and the rest of the crew know their trade very well.

SBI is a MUD meant for learning building, but it's self taught. http://zeno.biyg.org/~sbi/I'm typically on it though if people have questions.

This coming from a guy who shows up on every thread with either minor to trivial things to say.

Let's see, 2 seconds to post on a thread versus hours upon hours upon hours learning how to build, and then hours upon hours upon hours of building. I'm just saying he could learn an actual useful skill in that amount of time to benefit his own future, like coding and being a programmer.

For some help, I created a step by step guide for rooms using our OLC on 4Dimensions. The address for that link in our forum is: http://4dimensions.org/forum/index.php/topic,691.0.htmlOf course every mud is different, but this has the basics of what TBA would teach as it is the same codebase as they are, but it also has a few things that are 4Dimensions specific (Listen/Taste/Feel). Personally, I tend to build in spats - and on a different port than the game port - which is why I'm rarely on when I'm in between spats. But, I do like to show people how to build. It seems though that quite a few people that think they want to build, really don't have the time or energy to get even one 100 room (plus mobs and objects and scripts) zone done. Feel free to come on to 4dimensions (4dimensions.org 6000)and have a look around. If you like what you see and still think you want to build, feel free to email me at the link above or talk to Kvetch (that would be me). (Comment added by ladycati on Sun Dec 11 10:25:13 2011)*Also have a step by step guide for objects now at: http://4dimensions.org/forum/index.php/topic,754.0.html

Honestly, as a programmer, that's how I feel about most new fad programming languages that come out. -dentin Alter Aeon MUD http://www.alteraeon.com

Is mud panning a skill that makes one's life useful?
