Yes, as strange as I may have made it sound, I have some questions about a MUD client existing on the Nintendo Wii. I'll get the reason why out of the way now. My computer's processor died and I haven't been able to obtain a new computer quite yet, and I've grown bored of what I have to occupy myself (and I'm obviously missing out on my favourite MUDs because I lack something to play them on).
As a side note, I've tried the TMC Flash Client to no avail. The Wii's flash player is selective. Most Shockwave files (if not all, I've tried several) do not work. Some flash games don't work, either.
First and most importantly... Is there any chance that a Wii-based MUD client exists? I've been looking and can't find one.
Secondly, would it be able to support ANSI color?
Finally, if no homebrew Wii MUD client exists, what would I need to program my own, if it's even possible?
Also, if I posted this in the wrong section, I apologize. I'm not quite sure where else to place it. And if I missed something obvious that would point me in the right path, I'm also sorry about that. I'll be looking for a client further while waiting for a reply. Thanks in advance.

I use a USB keyboard just fine in conjunction with games that actually make use of one, so I'm sure almost any keyboards that connect to a USB port can be utilized.
On a somewhat different topic, I've actually found a PSP-based MUD client, which is funny, because it offers no external keyboard support, and the PSP keyboards have to be specialized for the system in question. And PSP keyboards are freakin' tiny.

I would guess no, and probley not because someone hasn't tried already. Nintendo has a community review process indie productions have to go through before you can publish for it, which I have heard is absurdly strict. Playstation on the other hand you just pay for a special developer edition playstaion with all the manuals and find someone to publish your works. On a side note, their are wireless keyboards for the wii. http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wii-Cordless-Keyboard-Nintendo/dp/B001D1HCF6

Firstly, we are talking about homebrew. That means homebrew...I'm not sure how to put it better than that. He's probably installed the homebrew channel, which does in fact allow installing software from non-nintendo approved sources.
I am not aware of any mud clients for it, but I am visually impaired and that is the last thing I'd use for mudding.
What you need to program your own: a homebrew-capable wii, knowledge of how to program homebrew wii applications, understanding of (proper) telnet negociations, and that's the basics. Beyond that, look up mxp, as that's popular, and mccp (using zlib for compression). These forums aren't going to be able to help you much if you try that, and if you don't already know programming for the wii, you might want to stop now, as it's probably worth just getting a 300-400 dollar netbook and saving the many hours of agony it will take to do that. If you don't know any programming at all: you need probably at least a year, though if you're a fast learner you might be able to do it in six months. In addition, is berkley sockets (the most well-known socket api, at least so far as i know) available on the wii? If not, you're also looking at some sort of wii-centric network api.

Wow, I never expected to see a reply to this, especially now. Though I would mess with the Wii's capabilities further to attempt to figure out several things that I wasn't capable of doing a while back, such as running DOSBox programs with less lag, I currently am typing this message on a custom built computer which I own.
Thanks for the replies, though. Maybe this will help me in the future, should something unspeakable happen to this computer somehow.
